Accompanying a Student at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Olympiad in Parungkuda

This morning was a meaningful and memorable experience for me as a teacher. I was assigned to serve as a mentor and supervisor for a student participating in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Olympiad , which was held at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Sukabumi in Parungkuda . This responsibility was not only an assignment, but also a valuable opportunity for me to support a student in developing her academic abilities. The student I accompanied was Memey , a fifth-grade student. In this Olympiad, I was specifically responsible for mentoring Memey in the Integrated Science and Social Studies competition, which was conducted during the first session. As a mentor, my role was not only to accompany her during the competition, but also to provide encouragement and help her feel prepared and confident before taking part in the event. After arriving at the venue, the atmosphere was already quite lively. Participants from various madrasahs gathered together with their respective teachers and mentor...

I believe in the miracle of prayer.

There is an event in my life that, even to this day, leaves me speechless whenever I remember it. It was not about wealth, position, or worldly success, but about a healing that came in a way we never expected. It was an experience that taught us the meaning of patience, effort, and, above all, how great Allah’s power is over all things. It all began when my wife suddenly lost her ability to smell. Her nose was constantly blocked and filled with mucus that would not go away. What was even stranger was that she could not even sneeze. Her breathing felt heavy and never completely relieved. At night, she had difficulty sleeping because she had to breathe through her mouth. As a result, her sleep was restless and was often accompanied by fairly loud snoring. Seeing that her condition was increasingly affecting her daily activities, we decided to seek medical help. We went to a general practitioner. After examining her, the doctor referred us to an ENT specialist. With hope in our hearts, w...

When We Leave This World, Let Our Goodness Remain

“Every soul will taste death.” — Qur’an 3:185 There is one certainty that no human being can escape: death . We may make countless plans, build beautiful homes, accumulate wealth, pursue education, achieve positions of honor, and dream of a long and happy life. Yet, no matter who we are or how successful we become, there will eventually come a moment when our journey in this world comes to an end. We will leave. When that moment arrives, our wealth will remain behind. Our homes will remain behind. Our vehicles, possessions, titles, and achievements will remain behind. But our deeds will go with us. That is why the most important question in life is not simply, “How long will I live?” The more important question is: “How well have I lived before I return to Allah?” When We Were Born Think about the moment a child enters this world. A newborn arrives with nothing. No wealth. No house. No position. No achievements. Yet when the baby cries for the first time, the people around him o...

Volcanic Ash Covers Homes and Vehicles After Mount Anak Krakatau Activity

What initially appeared to be an ordinary night after attending a Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW celebration turned into a surprising experience for a local resident. At around 11 p.m., after returning home from the religious event, the resident noticed that his motorcycle was unexpectedly covered in dust. At first, he was puzzled by the condition of the motorcycle. Since he had not realized what had caused the dust, he briefly suspected that some children might have been playing around and throwing dust at the vehicle. However, the assumption turned out to be incorrect. The real explanation became clearer the following morning. The resident's mother and younger sibling noticed that the terrace of their house was also covered with a considerable amount of fine dust. The family initially had no idea where the dust had come from. Their questions were eventually answered after they learned from the news that volcanic activity had occurred in the Anak Krakatau area. Volcanic ash was reported...

The Power of Prayer Before and After Teaching: Effort, Knowledge, Experience, and Divine Will

In life, human beings are expected to make every possible effort, but as people of faith, we must also recognize that not everything is within our control. No matter how hard we work, how much time we devote to learning, or how diligently we teach, there are matters beyond human ability. Ultimately, everything remains under the will of Allah. Therefore, prayer is not merely an additional part of our efforts; it is an expression of our humility and our recognition that we are dependent on God. For teachers, praying before and after teaching carries a profound meaning. Before entering the classroom, a teacher should not only prepare lessons and teaching materials but also ask Allah for guidance so that the knowledge being delivered can be understood, accepted, and beneficial to students. After teaching, prayer becomes an expression of gratitude and a sincere hope that the knowledge shared will become useful and bring goodness to the lives of the students. The same principle applies to le...

When Educational Values Shift in the Modern Era

We live in an age that is often described as an era of progress. Technology is developing at an extraordinary pace, information can be accessed within seconds, and knowledge that was once difficult to obtain is now readily available through the internet and social media. These developments have brought many benefits to human life, including education. Technology has opened countless opportunities for students to learn, explore new ideas, communicate, and develop skills beyond the traditional classroom. However, behind this remarkable progress lies an issue that should not be overlooked: the gradual shift in educational values, particularly in respect for teachers, discipline, manners, responsibility, and student behavior. Times have changed, and children today are growing up in an environment very different from that of previous generations. They have greater access to information, are more willing to express their opinions, and are often more critical of the world around them. Being c...
